We built Toolzey with privacy at its core. Here's exactly how we handle your data.

✅ Short version: Toolzey processes all files and data directly in your browser. We never upload, store, read, or share your files or the content you enter into our tools. Ever.

1. Who We Are

Toolzey ("we", "our", "us") operates the website at toolzey.com, providing 120 free online tools for image editing, PDF processing, text utilities, conversion, development, and calculations. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how our service works.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect minimal data to operate and improve Toolzey:

  • Usage analytics: Anonymous page views, tool usage counts, browser type, and country (via Google Analytics, if enabled). No personal identifiers are collected.
  • Cookie consent preference: We store your cookie preference locally in your browser.
  • Dark mode preference: Stored in your browser's localStorage, never on our servers.
  • Newsletter email: If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address with our email service provider to send you updates.

We do NOT collect: Your files, images, documents, passwords, text you type, search queries within the tool, or any personally identifiable information unless you explicitly provide it (e.g., contact form).

3. How Our Tools Process Your Data

This is the most important section. All Toolzey tools that process files or text operate entirely within your browser using client-side JavaScript APIs including:

  • FileReader API — reads your files locally, never uploads them
  • HTML5 Canvas API — processes images in-memory in your browser
  • Web Crypto API — generates cryptographic data (passwords, hashes) locally
  • Blob API — creates downloadable file outputs in your browser

Your files are processed in RAM (browser memory) and are deleted when you close the tab or clear results. No file is ever transmitted to our servers.

4. Cookies

We use the following types of cookies:

  • Strictly necessary: Cookie consent preference (required to remember your choice)
  • Analytics (optional): Google Analytics cookies to understand aggregate usage patterns. You can decline these.
  • Advertising (optional): Google AdSense cookies for displaying relevant advertisements. You can decline these.

You can manage or withdraw cookie consent at any time using the cookie banner, or by clearing your browser cookies.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

  • Google Analytics — anonymous usage statistics (optional, can be declined)
  • Google AdSense — advertising (optional, can be declined)
  • Email provider — newsletter delivery (only if you subscribe)

6. Data Retention

Since we don't store your files or tool inputs, there is no file data to retain. Analytics data is retained by Google Analytics per their standard policies (typically 14 months). Email addresses for newsletter subscribers are retained until you unsubscribe.

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to: access your data, request deletion, object to processing, withdraw consent at any time, and lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Contact us at privacy@toolzey.com to exercise these rights.

8. Children's Privacy

Toolzey is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date below. Continued use of Toolzey after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
