Simple Invoice Template — Microsoft Word (.docx)

Editable in Word, Google Docs, LibreOffice and Pages · 9.4 KB

This is a free, simple invoice template built for Microsoft Word — a clean, single-page layout with your company details, a line-items table, and a totals section, ready to fill in and send. No macros, no locked formatting, no watermark.

What's Included

  • Company and client detail fields (name, address, contact)
  • Invoice number, date, due date and payment terms
  • A 4-row itemized table (description, quantity, rate, amount) — add more rows the same way as any Word table
  • Subtotal, tax and total due section
  • A payment details and notes area

How to Use It

Download the file, open it in Word (or Google Docs — File → Open, then upload), and replace each bracketed placeholder like [Your Company Name] with your actual details. To add more line items, click into the last row of the table and press Tab, which creates a new row automatically.

Unlike Word, this template doesn't calculate your totals for you — you'll need to add up the amount column and enter the subtotal, tax and total manually, or switch to a version that does the math automatically (see below).

When to Use the Word Template vs. the Generator

This template is the right choice when you want a file you fully own and can keep editing offline — no browser, no internet connection needed once it's downloaded, and no dependency on any tool continuing to exist. If you'd rather have your totals calculated automatically and get a polished PDF in seconds without touching Word at all, our live Invoice Generator does that instead.
